Professor Graham Kendall
Professor Graham Kendall is the CEO and Provost of The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. He is also a Pro-Vice-Chancellor of The University of Nottingham and a Professor of Computer Science.
Professor Graham Kendall moved to academia after a successful career in the IT industry. He was awarded his PhD in 2000 and became a full Professor in 2007. In August 2011 he took up the position of Vice-Provost (Research and Knowledge Transfer) at the University of Nottingham’s Malaysia Campus (UNMC) and in Aug 2016 he became the CEO and Provost of UNMC.
He is a Director of MyResearch Sdn Bhd, Crops for the Future Sdn Bhd. and Nottingham Green Technologies Sdn Bhd. He also serves on the board of the British Malaysia Chamber of Commerce (BMCC).
Graham is a Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS) and a Fellow of the Operational Research Society (FORS). He is a Distinguished Professor at the Open University, Hong Kong and an Honorary Professor at Amity University, India.
He is a member of the Automated Scheduling, Planning and Optimisation and Planning (ASAP) research group.
Teaching and Research Summary
Graham has published widely in the areas of Operations Research and Evolutionary Computation. His research interests include Scheduling, Logistics, Vehicle Routing, Meta- and Hyper-heuristics, Evolutionary Computation and Games. He has lectured in these areas, as well as in general Computer Science, at under-graduate and post-graduate level. He has supervised PhD students in these, and related, areas.
Graham has given many invited, keynote and plenary talks around the world.
He is the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions of Computational Intelligence and AI in Games and an Associate Editor of ten other journals.
