Accommodation in Derby

If you are on a Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM), Nursing BSc, A108 Undergraduate Medicine with Foundation Year, Medical Physiology and Therapeutics, BMidwifery course or are a postgraduate research student of the Division of Medical Sciences and Graduate Entry Medicine, you will be able to stay in Student Living accommodation for the duration of your studies in Derby.

Area Student Living halls are situated a short distance from Derby City Centre and within 2 miles of Royal Derby Hospital. There is a unibus route which goes to the University of Derby and bus routes to take you to the hospital.

Contract

42 weeks a year. Once you have moved in you are liable to pay for the duration of your contract period.

If your course requires you to come earlier or stay longer than the contract allows, you can extend your stay by paying for extra weeks.

Booking fee

You must pay an advanced booking payment of £100 when you apply. You need to pay this to reserve your room.  This will be deducted off your first term's rent. 

Room types

Every room comes equipped with a bed, built-in wardrobe, built-in desk, chair, bookshelves, personal door lock, phone, mirror, power sockets, and Wi-Fi internet. Your communications package allows you to watch TV through your PC or laptop.

Please note: fees are for 2019/20 and include all bills - heating, electricity and water bills, personal contents insurance, Wi-Fi, internal phone calls and Freeview TV and radio.

  • your own bedroom and study furniture with a wash basin
  • a kitchen/diner you will share with six others
  • shared toilets and showers

Annual fees: £4,621.68

Annual car parking permit (limited spaces) - £300

Annual motorbike parking permit - £150
