When is the right time to take the leap of faith into entrepreneurship? Is it now? Or should you wait until the markets are stable? With job prospects changing and uncertainty in the workplace, is entrepreneurship even a viable option right now? Join alumnus Chris Brownridge as he shares lessons learned from his entrepreneurial journey.
Our speakerAfter graduating from the University in 2007 with a degree in French and German, Chris moved to Paris to work for an A.I company, and subsequently spent four years at Google. While at Google, he tinkered with different side projects and ideas (which all failed!) before teaming up with the co-founders of Vungle and moving to San Francisco in 2012. Vungle was later acquired for over $750m. In 2016, he moved to Seattle and started a new company, GawkBox, where he raised $4.4M in VC funding – but unfortunately, it was not as successful as Vungle and he ended up shutting it down in summer 2019. Currently, Chris is working on a new early-stage startup based in Seattle.
