Rachel has significant experience in international education and has previously worked in the University of Nottingham's International Office, as well as at the University of Birmingham and De Montfort University, in roles relating to study abroad. She has lived abroad in France and Italy and speaks French and Italian. She is particularly passionate about outgoing global student mobility from the UK.
Rachel has worked in the School of Biosciences for the last 6 years, as part of the School's Placement Team, supporting undergraduate and MSc students; and as Director of Internationalisation: responsible for international activity across the School, including international student recruitment, international teaching partnerships, student mobility and international student experience.
Rachel's current role is split between the Faculty of Science and the School of Biosciences.
In her Faculty role, she leads and coordinates strategic global projects as part of the Faculty Team. In the School of Biosciences, she is the Placements, Partnerships and Mobility (PPM) lead, including management of the School's Placement Team; management of student outgoing/incoming mobility; and coordination and oversight of international teaching partnerships.
