Integrative systems biology research

Innovative approaches to modelling and mining of data are used to further understanding of interactions occurring in biological processes and this work provides crucial underpinning to research themes across the School.

Our work centres on prediction of the effects of genotype and environment upon the phenotype of plants and animals through analysis of high-throughput (transcriptomic, metabolomic and SNP) and high-content (2D and 3D image time-series) data.

Modelling work is complemented by multiscale activities that integrate process models with models of cell/tissue/organ anatomy.
