Research Topic:
How senior partners in law firms can effectively strategize to gain a competitive advantage in the currently changing legal industry

Research Details:
This research will investigate the interaction between senior partners in a chosen sample of commercial law firms, to discover and analyse their decision-making processes in devising and implementing their firm's strategy. In the current economic climate, a high concentration of 11,128 law firms currently across England and Wales (Callan, 2012), alongside the recent introduction of Alternative Business Structures, means competition within law firms to gain business has become increasingly fierce and significant to a law firm's survival. In turn, it is imperative that senior legal partners develop strategies so as to develop and maintain a sustainable competitive advantage in the midst of a fast-evolving business environment.
