Ingenuity18 Ideas Summit is a groundbreaking event and the first of its kind at The University of Nottingham. Open to all Ingenuity18 entrants, we want to challenge your thinking and inspire you to realise the power you have to re-shape contemporary society.
Throughout the weekend, we will provide inspiring talks from world-class thinkers, innovation sessions, trend forecasting, a series of thought-provoking screenings and hands-on development. Our key aim is to move you out of your comfort zone and help you find more innovative solutions to the problems you are facing.

Please note: At least one member from each participating group must attend the ideas summit.
The two days will be filled with keynote speeches, interactive sessions, and opportunities to be challenged on how you think, and the impacts of those thoughts. Sessions include:
Ian Filby, CEO of DFS: The value of physical, emotional and spiritual approaches to innovation and creativity.
Kajal Odedra, UK DIRECTOR of change.org: The future of society and politics, and the opportunities for the University community to shape it.
Rohan Gunatillake, CREATIVE AND EXECUTIVE LEAD of Mindfulness Everywhere: Ethical and mindful design in technology.
Sarah Smith, DIRECTOR of Indigo Leadership: An interactive session called ‘Into the Big Outdoors’, which will give you experience in innovative methods to come up with creative answers.
Dr. Deborah Benham, COORDINATOR of 8 Shields UK: The ways in which our innovation can be informed by nature.
We will also have a range of smaller sessions run by leading academics in fields of creativity, innovation, future tech, and the circular economy which will further develop how you make sense of your purpose as an innovator. Full details of the Ideas Summit timetable will be released in due course.
The Future Laboratory
The Future Laboratory exists to help us make a better future for our businesses by giving them the confidence to make decisions today that will create economic, environmental and social growth tomorrow.
Their two sessions at the Ingenuity18 Ideas Summit will focus on Civic Brands and Female Futures.
Guest speaker, Victoria Buchanan specialises in future thinking and consumer research, helping brands to be more prepared for the future by giving them the tools to take the decisions today that will create economic, environmental and social growth tomorrow.
Ingenuity live sessions, which will be lead by Rights Lab and Katherine Royse, will help you to understand your creative power and develop your USP so that you can innovate and add value to some of the UK’s most influential social organisations.
Using Ingenuity Online, you will define, discover and determine innovative solutions to problems that have impact across the UK.
Throughout Ingenuity18, we will be hosting a range of groundbreaking screenings that can help shape how we view the world.
