Responsible Consumption

This research theme comprises contributions to the subject of responsibility and related areas, such as ethical and sustainable consumption.

Our research commonly addresses questions on how consumers make responsible decisions, what they understand responsibility to mean and how they experience it, as well as the corporate and market contexts which enable responsible consumption.

Previous research covers a range of industry-specific topics and disciplinary areas – most notably food, retail and tourism – where we have worked with scholars across and outside of the Business School.

The ICCSR current research focusses on the phenomenon of modern slavery, attending to the consumption practices which precede, sustain, and end extreme labour exploitation.
