If you are interested in a career in global tourism and thinking about applying for this MSc, attending this open event will help you to decide.

Mini lecture: Making tourism more sustainable - the role of marketing

Professor Scott McCabe, renowned international tourism marketing expert, will talk about the difference sustainability marketing can make to tourism marketing.

Tourism marketing has typically been seen as exploitative and fuelling hedonistic consumerism.

Sustainability marketing can, however, use marketing skills and techniques to good purpose by:

  • understanding market needs
  • designing more sustainable products
  • identifying more persuasive methods of communication to bring behavioural change.
