Nottingham University Business School is delighted to host the 2022 British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) annual conference.

Starting with doctoral masterclasses on April 11, the conference takes place over three days on Jubilee Campus.

Almost 300 people, including PhD students, researchers, leading academics, and practitioners from the field of accounting and finance will meet to showcase innovative teaching and research.

This is the first face-to-face BAFA conference since the Covid-19 pandemic began, so we are privileged to be the host. We look forward to  showcasing our school, the research we undertake, our excellent facilities, and the wider university. It also provides opportunities for our researchers in accounting and finance to network and create collaborations.

Early career researchers

The early career researcher sessions allow final-year PhD students and those who have completed their PhD within the last five years an opportunity to present their work and get feedback from invited faculty and others in smaller sessions.

Professor of Accounting and Finance at Nottingham, Musa Mangena, said:

We are delighted to organise and host the 2022 British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) conference at Nottingham University Business from the 11 to 13 April. BAFA is a premier learned association in the UK and brings together accounting and finance academics, and practitioners with interests in teaching and research in accounting and finance. It organises its annual conferences across UK universities but draws participants from across the world. Over the 3-day period, several research papers addressing the role of accounting and finance in resolving societal challenges will be presented and discussed. We are looking forward to an exciting conference.

We would like to thank ICAEW Charitable Trust which is once again supporting the doctoral masterclasses on Monday, and CIMA who are sponsoring the main conference.
