MBA Director wins 2020 Global Women in Telco and Tech Agent of Change Award

Nottingham University Business School's Director of MBA programmes, Dr Terri Simpkin, has won the 2020 Global Women in Telco and Tech 'Agent of Change' award.

The Brynn Fowler Agent of Change Award acknowledges an individual - male or female - who actively champions the message of inclusion and diversity both in and out of the workplace over the last 12 months.

This year's ceremony took place online on 29 September among a day of panel sessions, workshops and interactive discussions. The show was attended by notable industry figures to celebrate the accomplishments of women in the telecoms and technology space.

Terri said:

"While it was a bit of a surprise to be nominated, the award draws attention to the breadth and depth of evidence based activity required to shift embedded and complex barriers to inclusion in workplaces and society more generally. My recent work includes research activity looking at girls in STEM education, women in the digital infrastructure sector and the impact of the impostor phenomenon in industry and Higher Education. This has informed practical interventions such as the development of education and coaching programmes which I’m continuing to develop and deliver. It’s a real privilege to have been nominated among an outstanding global peer group."

Terri is an industry experienced academic, educator, researcher, public speaker and an authority on the impostor phenomenon.
