Piercarlo is a theorist with main research interests in the fields of Industrial Economics - Innovation and Competition Economics in particular - and Endogenous Growth Theory. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Nottingham, an MSc in Economics and a Doctorate in Economics from the University of Siena. Prior to joining the University of Nottingham, he worked at the University of Leicester and at the University of Bologna. His work has been published in top field and general interest academic journals, such as the RAND Journal of Economics, the Economic Journal, and the International Journal of Industrial Organization.
