Dr Andrew Grainger
Honorary Associate Professor (Operations Management and Information Systems Division)
Dr Andrew Grainger joined Nottingham University Business School in January 2009 as a Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. In previous roles Andrew worked as Deputy Director at SITPRO, the former UK trade facilitation agency. There he also served as the Secretary for EUROPRO, the umbrella body of European trade facilitation bodies, and was also a member of the European Commission's DG TAXUD Trade Contact Group. Other past experiences include freight forwarding and logistics in Germany, Malaysia and Singapore, as well as Worldtrade consulting with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London.
On a number of occasions Andrew worked as staff consultant with the World Bank Group. He has also supplied consulting services to: the European Commission; the European Parliament; the UK's Businesslink.gov.uk programme; the governments of: Bangladesh, Lao PDR and Ethiopia; as well as numerous private sector companies and research organisations.
Andrew's research interests relate to the interface between business and government in logistics operations, especially in the context of international trade and trade facilitation as well as ports, port resilience, customs and borders.
