Maria Karafyllia is Assistant Professor in Strategy at Nottingham University Business School, University of Nottingham, UK. Prior to joining the University of Nottingham, she held academic positions at Anglia Ruskin University, the University of Birmingham, and the University of Vaasa in Finland. She received her PhD from the University of Glasgow and MSc from the University of Manchester. Her research interests include paradoxes of strategy and innovation, unlearning, domestic market effects on internationalisation, open innovation, necessity entrepreneurship, and market ambid exterity. Her JPIM article "Perspective: Leveraging Open Innovation through Paradox" won the Albert L. Page Award for Outstanding Professional Contribution.
