Research

The Strategy and International Business (SIB) Department hosts a group of researchers on strategy, international business and corporate social responsibility. Research within the SIB Department is diverse in terms of research topics, covering strategic management and leadership, learning and organisational changes, international business, innovation, management education and business school strategy, and corporate social responsibility.

Our department is the home of the world-leading International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility (ICCSR). It is one of the largest of its kind, specialising in research on responsible business and management. The SIB Department also hosts the Centre for Research in the Behavioural Sciences (CRIBS) which is an international and interdisciplinary community of scholars interested in studying management from a behavioural perspective, using theories and methods from management, economics, and psychology.

SIB members value diversity, inclusiveness, multi-disciplinarity and collaboration, engaging with diverse stakeholders within and outside the Business School and the University with a mission to:

  • develop impactful and globally recognised research and generate new knowledge
  • promote research-led teaching that is truly world-class
  • provide expertise and solutions to business leaders and policy-makers

Expertise

SIB’s research focuses on three strategic priorities:

  • Strategic management, learning and organisational changes
  • Internationalisation of emerging market enterprises (EMEs) and innovation
  • Corporate social responsibility
