CICCS exhibit at the Lord Dearing Conference
The University of Nottingham held a memorial conference on “The Future of Higher Education” in February of this year. The conference was in recognition of Lord Dearing’s contribution to higher education, and gave others the opportunity to contribute to the debate on its future. The event was co-sponsored by Times Higher Education.
CICSS were invited to exhibit at the conference which was attended by a wide range of delegates involved in higher level education. Research conducted at the centre, including innovative methods of carbon capture and storage was featured in the display and our new staff members Dr. Sarah Mackintosh and Dr. Giorgio Caramanna where on hand throughout the day to talk to delegates. They were also joined, during the conference breaks, by our director Professor Mercedes Maroto-Valer and together they had the opportunity to answer questions and illustrate the highlights of the CICCS research.
