What is the Skills Access Hub?
The Skills Access Hub is delivered in partnership with Nottingham City Council, backed by the European Social Fund, to help small and medium sized enterprises in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire through staff development.
The Skills Access Hub is a project designed to support SMEs within our region to access knowledge and skills from a range of providers including Futures for Business, the City Council, Nottingham College and Vision West Nottinghamshire College. Information about the full project can be found here.
We’re proud to work in partnership with Nottingham City Council to deliver the Skills Access Hub to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
We offer a free bespoke package that includes recruitment and training to help you close the skills gaps, scope out skills needs, and how to develop, recruit and retain relevant opportunities for graduates and interns.
The University of Nottingham is ranked 4th in the Good University Guide for ‘Universities Targeted by Top Employers.’ This is a testament to our committment to build positive and proactive business partnerships with top employers and our ability to provide our students and graduates with the right skills needed for today’s workforce.

What our clients are saying
"As a large employer in Nottingham, it is great to work in partnership with the University of Nottingham and provide regular updates on our early career opportunities.
By posting our Graduate opportunities on the University’s online jobs board - MyCareer, we have seen a high level of interest from students towards data analyst roles and other opportunities, such as software engineering, business systems analysts, and business resilience placements. The platform is easy to use and takes a minimal amount of time to add vacancies."
Nicola Lamplough, Head of Early Careers Learning and Development at Experian
"The Skills Access Hub has made everything straightforward which has alleviated stress for us as a business. The support has been excellent! Their communication has also been great from the initial set up of job adverts to claiming funding for a summer internship, and to have a graduate join our team.
We have been really impressed by the Skills Access Hub, and will not hesitate to contact them again.”
Nikki Brocklehurst, Project Coordinator at S&L Electrical LTD
"We’ve advertised positions for our graduate development programme on the university’s job board since its inception in 2018. There is no doubt that it has been a vital element in promoting our scheme and encouraging high-quality applicants from the university!
Having recently recruited five students and graduates from the university to our recent trainee cohort, I’m confident that the jobs board has been instrumental in our success and we will continue to utilise it for future recruitments."
Adrian McKiernan, Business Partner, Workforce Planning and Organisational Development at Nottinghamshire County Council
