Employability Officer - Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Registrars
The Widening Participation Team leads the University's work to engage learners from less advantaged backgrounds in education and support their progression to higher education, including the University of Nottingham. The Team delivers over 80,000 places on more than 3,400 outreach activities each year. We support measures across the student lifecycle relating to admissions, success, financial support and progression.
The Academic Enrichment area of work targets high-achieving young people with the potential to progress to a selective university. Our programmes include the week-long Sutton Trust and Nottingham Potential Summer Schools in July, taster sessions, masterclasses and revision sessions for the pre-16 and post-16 Ambition Nottingham programme, as well as activities for other schemes such as Pathways to Law and Pathways to STEM.
My role spans both Pre-16 and Post-16 elements of the Ambition Nottingham programme, delivering both in-school and campus based events to local school/college pupils in Years 10 and Year 12 as well as supporting events for other year groups. I also coordinate our e-mentoring programme for Year 12 pupils who have attended a Summer School, allowing the pupils to keep in touch with a current University of Nottingham student whilst they complete their post-16 studies.
