Biography
I teach general EAP (English for Academic Purposes) and have responsibilities for material, syllabus and assessment design and implementation. For the past 2 years, I have been part of a curriculum review team which has lead to significant changes in Nottingham's presessional EAP provision. I am also doing a PhD on Academic Writing under the supervision of Professor Pat Thomson (Education) and Dr Andrew Fisher (Philosophy). In terms of dissemination, I have presented at several national and international conferences on the subject of EAP, assessment, task-based learning and critical thinking. I have also published on these topics. I am committed to an EAP pedagogy which sits within HE and which is research-informed .
