He carries out research in the area of knowledge management. His research suggests that the effect of information technology is likely to be limited unless attention is paid to wider organizational issues, particularly human resource management. His research has been published in Management Learning (2004) and International Journal of Human Resource Management (2003). He has also examined the impact of information technology upon the role of middle managers (funded and published by CIMA).
