John's independent academic research career began at The University of London, School of Pharmacy in 2005, where he was appointed as an RCUK-EPSRC academic fellow in Chemical Biology/Cancer Medicinal Chemistry. In September 2007, he was appointed tat the University of Nottingham as an Associate Professor in Organic Chemistry. In 2011 he was promoted to Reader in Chemical Biology.
Research in the Moses group focuses on the application of synthetic chemistry to help solve biological problems. The group is active in several complementary areas, including:
Anticancer Drug Discovery; Biomimetic Synthesis; Chemical Biology; Click Chemistry and Anti-Cancer Drug Discovery ; Target guided synthesis and in situ drug discovery; Structural Biology
