Undergraduate Ambassadors Scheme

The Undergraduate Ambassadors Scheme (UAS) involves final year students completing an academic degree module in local schools offering practical classroom experience supported by education seminars.

Local schools host the students for a six-week teaching placement in the spring term. The students deliver sessions to pupils studying languages or film and media. The focus and content of these sessions is created collaboratively between the student and the host school.

If you are interested in being a host primary or secondary school for this programme then please contact us to find out more.

Feedback from teachers at host schools

I’m really enjoying having our UAS student, she is quickly progressing and showing a huge interest in teaching.

Our UAS students are proving to be a real asset and our own students are finding their sessions very valuable – I have had particularly encouraging feedback about our student teaching German, so three cheers for her!

The five ambassadors are absolutely fantastic - they are enthusiastic and organised. Their resources are eye-catching, creative and interesting to the pupils.

Our student seems very engaging and is getting on well with his sessions which take place in the computer lab in our department.
