Nottingham French Studies MRes studentship

The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures is pleased to announce a special MRes studentship, sponsored by the Nottingham French Studies journal.

The aim of the studentship is to support one MRes project in French studies. However, MRes projects with a comparative or interdisciplinary element will also be considered for funding. 

What does the studentship involve?

 

This studentship is available from September 2021, for a duration of 1 year. It will cover MRes tuition fees at the home rate of £4,400.

About Modern Languages at Nottingham

 

Modern Languages at the University of Nottingham were ranked 5th in the UK in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework for ‘Research Power’.

French at Nottingham is internationally renowned for its teaching and research. The French section is able to offer supervision in most areas, with particular strengths in:

  • French and Francophone literary studies, from the early modern period to the present
  • French cultural studies
  • Visual cultures, including cinema
  • Sociolinguistics

  • Postcolonial studies
  • French thought and Critical Theory
