Media monitoring and evaluation

The Media Relations Team monitors media coverage on a daily basis, to assess the impact of media relations activity.

Media hits are circulated via Scoop.It each weekday, and collated into a monthly report which features top stories and analyses volume of coverage, key subject areas, spokespeople, sentiment, and a range of other indicators. It also compares levels of media coverage with peer institutions and provides a break down by faculty and by country.

The advertising equivalent value of coverage averaged £3m each month in 2016.
