Furniture Re-Use Project

The University’s Estates Office offers a Furniture Re-Use project.  Through the project the University can supply not-for-profit groups with used office furniture which is no longer required but still in good condition and serviceable.

How does it work?

When there is a surplus of office furniture in our warehouse we offer it free of charge to community organisations who are welcome to approach us with requests at any time and we will try to help.
There are two main aims behind the project, firstly to reduce the amount the University sends to landfill and secondly to donate to community and not-for-profit organisations which invariably operate on very tight budgets. The types of items usually on offer are;
  • Desks
  • Filing cabinets
  • Chairs - various types
The University’s Environmental Strategy underpins the ethos of this project and as well as helping our partner organisations the wider-reaching benefits of recycling in this way are to our environment.
