The undergraduate curriculum is based on international ACM/IEEE Computer Science curriculum.

All undergraduate our honours programmes taught solely by the School of Computer Science follow the ACM, IEEE and BCS accredited core syllabus; this ensures that all of our graduates have an exceptional academic degree, taught specifically to address current demands in industry while also providing an excellent basis for follow-on study, masters and research programmes.

Specific pathways are available, such as Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering, which allow students to spearhead their education in the direction of a specific area while still having the flexibility to pursue their other computing interests.


Real-life tailored courses

Addressing the rapid development in and around Computer Science, the School offers novel courses such as a new BSc Data Science (in collaboration with the School of Mathematics).

The courses taught are continually reviewed and reflect market trends in both academia and industry. Most recently, 2015 saw the introduction on a BSc in Data Science, taught in collaboration with the School of Mathematics, which builds on strong elements from Computer Science and Mathematics to equip students with the skills needed to access a rapidly growing job market around data analysis and big data.

Study at Nottingham's beautiful campuses in Malaysia and China or take part in the U21 scheme.

The University of Nottingham is unique in giving students the opportunity to enrich their education through integrated studies at its campuses abroad. Specifically, you can seamlessly take a part of your course at our campuses in China and Malaysia where our undergraduate programmes are also taught in English, just as they are here in Nottingham.
Further, as part of the Universitas 21 scheme, a group of prestigious universities around the globe, the university provides access for spending part of your studies at other U21 universities around the world.
We strongly encourage our students to take a semester or year abroad and offer reduced tuition fees for students taking advantage of overseas study!

UK Government Supported Finance

EU students can apply for loans to cover up to 100% of tuition fees from the UK government

EU undergraduate students, both full time and part time (from 2012 entry onwards), are eligible to apply for a loan from the UK Government towards their tuition fees to a maximum of £9,000. Read more here.
