Description

Abstract:

The traditional private gardens of Southern China, especially the Suzhou area, have attracted the admiration and fascination of so many people with their breathtaking beauty and intricate design methods. To fully understand the meaning, history and cultural significance of these gardens has always been a challenge for academics. One way to approach this intriguing topic is to read these gardens as poetry. In this talk, Dr Wang will explore the secrets of traditional private garden design, taking a traditional Chinese literary perspective to shine a light on this charming subject.

May I ask the posters for this talk and Carlos’s being put up around campuses by This Friday if at all possible please? The first venue that could be reached ideally today is our Si Yuan Centre.
