NCI's end of course showcase party – 'a perfect way to end the term'

2018’s autumn semester Mandarin programme closed in style on Friday 14th December with a showcase Christmas party organised by Nottingham Confucius Institute (NCI). The party was attended by around thirty evening class and private one-to-one students and staff.

The end of course party is a great opportunity for NCI students, old and young from various walks of life, to celebrate their achievements and showcase their progress in Mandarin after completing a term of Mandarin lessons.

After meeting to share a delicious Chinese buffet, students from beginner to advanced levels delivered an enjoyable show with each act winning warm rounds of applause. A number of well-known Chinese poems were read such as “Thoughts on a Quiet Night” and “Qiang Jin Jiu” by Li Bai and “Saying Goodbye to Cambridge” by Xu Zhimo. Two Chinese pop songs, “Deep Sleep” and “Beijing Welcomes You All” were also presented by students from intermediate and advanced levels. The show ended with a joint performance from all participants singing a Chinese “Merry Christmas” song, with much enthusiastic waving of glow sticks!

After the show, many students stayed for drinks and refreshments whilst socializing with their peers and NCI teachers. Several students said reading Chinese poems was great fun and very conducive to learning. Many thanks were given to NCI for the term’s teaching and organising the party. As one student summed up – “this party is a perfect way to end the term!’.

2018年诺丁汉大学孔子学院冬季汉语课程结业典礼

暨汇报演出成功举行

2018年12月14日，诺丁汉大学孔子学院冬季汉语课程结业典礼暨汇报演出在诺丁汉大学银禧校区思源楼成功举行。

体验了美味的中餐之后，晚会在HSK 1A诗歌朗诵《静夜思》中拉开序幕。

中国传统歌曲、现代歌曲、绕口令、诗歌朗诵、乐器表演好戏连台，群“演”荟萃。孔院学生充分展示了对中国语言和文化的热爱。

HSK2A和HSK2B的同学虽然刚学习汉语两个学期，就为大家带来了《将进酒》和《再别康桥》两首经典诗歌。

HSK3B班级的英国学生诸葛雷雨为大家带来了电视剧《美人为馅》的主题曲《沉眠》，美妙的歌声使得晚会气氛到达了高潮。晚会最后由HSK4C班级的学生珠珠带领大家重温了北京奥运会主题曲《北京欢迎你》，引得现场大合唱起来。

晚会结束后，学生与老师们觥筹交错，畅谈生活、人生，进行思想的交流。有同学表示三个月的课程太过短暂，自己已经对汉语产生了浓厚兴趣，希望下学期的课程早点开始并会坚持不懈的努力学习汉语，争取能到中国身临其境的体验汉语，体验中国文化。这次晚宴不仅是视听盛宴，更是思想的碰撞，新梦想的启程。
