The University of Nottingham testing service has been established to counter the hidden spread of COVID-19 and keep staff, students and the local community safe.
It has been specifically designed to help control outbreaks caused by asymptomatic transmission among staff and students. Our aim is to provide targeted support to local public health and the NHS Track and Trace system.
We began operating the service on Monday 5 October 2020, and are aiming to increase our sample collection and test capacity each week. We are working with Nottingham Trent University to try and extend the service to their staff and students – and are aiming to start processing their samples from the middle of October.
It is not a bookable service, so you cannot request a test.
If you have symptoms of the coronavirus you should book a test through the government's booking site.
We have two pre-bookable, walk-up only testing sites on University Park and Jubilee Campus. If tests are available at these sites, they will come up as an option when booking. As walk-up sites, these testing centres are open to members of staff, students and the local community who are within walking distance. However, staff and students may be offered other locations while booking a test.
Visit our coronavirus advice pages for more guidance about what to do if you have symptoms, how to notify us, advice on self-isolating, and how we can support you.
