A focus on - the annual fund

The Annual Fund Grants Panel has awarded over £1million to over 100 different projects since its establishment in 2007. These world changing projects would not have been possible without the support of alumni and friends of the University. Have a look at a small selection of projects that have been made possible as a result of the fund below or visit the alumni pages to find out more.

  • Sutton Bonington Farmers Market - Healthy local produce is now the food of choice at Sutton Bonington Campus following the success of a student run farmers’ market. The first market, which was the brainchild
of four postgraduate students, attracted over 250 students and local people.
  • Rebuild Lanka - Not content with a demanding work schedule during term time, 32 medical and psychology students used their summer holiday to improve the lives of people in Sri Lanka. The volunteers spent a month teaching children with special needs and helping to improve facilities at a hospital.
  • Any-Body Month - An initiative designed to provide sports access to all students no matter what their level
of ability, while raising awareness of disability sport among students and the local community. The event has been recognised by both British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) and the London 2012 organisers.
