INTRODUCTION

The European Asphalt Technology Association (EATA) is an organisation that was established in 2003 with similar aims and structure to the well established US Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists (AAPT).  EATA aims to provide a forum on a European scale for regular biennial technical meetings combined with publication of high quality fundamental and applied research on asphalt technology.  The inaugural meeting of EATA was held on the 6th – 7th July 2004 at the Nottingham Royal Moat House Hotel, Nottingham and was attended by 120 delegates.  The meeting was extremely successful with a total of 14 papers being presented at the meeting and published in the International Journal of Road Materials and Pavement Design.  The second meeting was help on the 3rd – 4th May 2006 in Meriden, Warwickshire (click here for further details).
