INTRODUCTION
NEXUS is a website that provides online teaching support for Economics School modules in addition to that still available from the Student Intranet.

NEXUS can be accessed from any computer with web access. However, a username and password are required. These are only available from the School of Economics, and are provided to Economics students during induction. All other students should e-mail Jo Morgan for a username and password.

USING THE NEXUS SYSTEM
Hopefully you will find NEXUS easy to use. Once you have logged on (at http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/economics/nexus), you need to select the programme you require (undergraduate or Postgraduate, followed by the module you want, and then the option you wish to access for that module (such as tutorial booking). Throughout, the navigation system is hierarchical, with subsequent levels available by selecting from a combo box (drop-down list) and pressing "GO", and all previous navigation levels accessible by clicking on the appropriate link. For example, after selecting "Undergraduate" and "Computers In Business" you will see the following:

Nexus Example

Above, pressing "GO" would take you to the forum for the Computers in Business module (or whatever other option you had selected from the combo box), whilst clicking on "Undergraduate" would allow you to select another undergraduate module.

ONLINE TUTORIAL BOOKING
All module convenors in the School can opt to use NEXUS to facilitate tutorial sign-up for their modules. A module can have as many tutorial sign-up lists as a module convenor requires, with students being able to add or remove themselves from tutorial slots using the appropriate "Add" or "Remove" links. The "My Tutorials" link then provides a listing of all the tutorial sessions for which a user has signed up.

Students and staff should note that NEXUS is a secure facility available on any computer with Web access. To ensure security please note that your NEXUS session will automatically be terminated after a short period of time, which may necessitate you occasionally having to reenter your username and password.
