"You might be pleasantly surprised by how much and how often economics overlaps with other disciplines. Most people appreciate that economics and politics frequently intersect, but what about economics and psychology - or even economics and philosophy? All these intersections are attracting increasing attention and are important to my work, too.
My research is in the fields of economic theory and behavioural economics, and I'm particularly interested in assessing models of the behaviour and attitudes of individuals facing decision problems - especially where those problems involve risk, time or conflict between private and social interests. By implication, I'm interested both in what people do in these situations and in how we should conduct economics as a science."
