Secondary School Taster Day

Are you interested in becoming a secondary teacher of English, geography, history, maths, mordern languages or science?

Come along to our taster day at Merrill Academy in Derby, one of our local partnership schools, to find out more.

This event is for anyone interested in applying for a secondary teacher training course. 

The event gives you the opportunity to spend a day in school and will support you in making a decision about whether a career in teaching is for you. It will also support any applications you might make for a teacher training course.

During the day you will have the opportunity to:

• observe experienced teachers in their classrooms
• talk to teachers at various stages in their teaching careers about their roles
• find out about the school’s curriculum, pastoral system and enrichment opportunities for pupils
• learn about the pathways to becoming a teacher on the PGCE and PGCE School Direct course and the opportunities available in a teaching career
