Assistant Professor in Counselling, Faculty of Social Sciences
I qualified as a Person-Centred therapist and trained as a trainer with Professor Brian Thorne at the University of East Anglia in 1995. I am a registered senior accredited member of BACP and am qualified as a person-centred supervisor and Counselling for Depression Licensed practitioner.
I have been a lecturer, tutor and facilitator over the last twenty years and also work as a Person- Centred therapist in the voluntary sector. This role has been part of my work for 19 years (presently for NHS EAST IAPT in Norfolk) .
As a person-centred therapists and trainer my practice focuses on the phenomenological aspects of human experiencing.
This is applicable in how I facilitate groups, offer courses, research, my work as a therapist and as a supervisor.
My research interests are focused on the place of the person-centred approach within an NHS context .
