Learning Technologies Section

The Learning Technologies Section is a part of the University of Nottingham Libraries department which supports the digital learning goals of the University. It works closely with senior leaders to understand and shape strategic direction and to tailor support to meet those needs.


Teams within the section


The overall section is made up of several teams which focus on delivering support in different areas.

Faculty and School Support Team

The Faculty and School Support Team is a frontline team of consulatnts that works closely with academic colleagues and students to embed the use of digital learning tools and pedagogy across the University.

Learning Systems Team

The Learning Systems Team is a technical team which develops , tests and deploys a range of learning technologies. This includes Moodle - our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) - and Rogo (our e-assessment system), as well as its own and third party open source software. 

The team also includes a business analyst to ensure that we can deliver on the full cycle of development.


Learning Content Team

The Learning Content Team provides a range of support for digital learning content. This includes a fully-featured video production service in support og teaching and learning activity. 

The Team also provides consultancy support for a wide range of digital learning content, working across a wide range of multimedia to develop engaging and effective content to support teaching and learning at the University.

MOOCs and NOOCs Team

The University has delivered Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on the FutureLearn platform since 2013. The MOOCs and NOOCs team helps to support this work by providing consultancy support around course design and delivery.

This team manages the Nottingham Open Online Courses (NOOCs) programme which delivers a range of online courses to students across all of our UK and International Campuses.
