What you need to know
Recording high-profile lectures and events
The University has lecture recording facilities available across all of its campuses, enabling the easy creation of podcasts and screencasts.
For high-profile lectures or events that will be published on the website, you might want expert support in creating your recording. If so, please contact the Learning Content Team or the External Relations Team during the planning stage of your event.
Digital audio recording kits
Digital audio recording kits are available to staff for recording audio from lectures and other activities. Recordings can be made in mp3 format and files can easily be published in Moodle or MediaSpace.
Staff can also borrow digital audio recording kits from the Teaching Room Support contact within your area.
We would recommend using Audacity when editing audio files. It is a free easy-to-use audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OSX and GNU/Linux.
If you deliver a lecture or event online using Adobe Connect, you also have the option to record it.
For more information, please contact the Teaching Room Support within your area.
When using your own or other people's materials, please consider your reponsibilities regarding copyright and make sure that any participants have signed a rights waiver.
For more information, please contact the Learning Content Team.
