Recording events
This page contains basic information about the audio-visual services provided by the Learning Content Team for high-profile teaching events, such as the University's annual Teaching and Learning Conference. Its content is primarily aimed at staff based within the UK but may also be of interest to colleagues in China and Malaysia.
What you need to know
The Learning Content Team is available to help with the recording of high-profile, internally organised teaching events upon request. However, please note that this service is not normally offered for any timetabled lectures, which should already have access to the University's standard lecture capture facilities.

Recording high-profile lectures and events
The University has a number of teams which can provide assistance with the recording of high-profile events on one of its campuses. This includes both the Learning Content Team (within the Libraries' Learning Technology section) and colleagues based within External Relations.
To ensure sufficient time for preparation and planning, it is recommended that contact is made with one or both teams during the initial planning stages of your event.
For more information about the audio-vidual support provided by colleagues based within External Relations, please consult the following:

Digital audio recording kits
Digital audio recording kits are already available to staff for recording basic audio from lectures and other teaching activities in mp3 format, which can then be published on either Moodle or MediaSpace.
University staff can also borrow digital audio recording kits from the Teaching spaces support contact within their area. For more information abut Teaching spaces support, please consult the following

Audio editing
For audio editing purposes, a free easy-to-use audio editor and recorder called 'Audacity' is recommended (for Windows, Mac OSX and GNU/Linux).
