I am an Associate Professor at University of Nottingham Malaysia that have been teaching for more than 10 years since 2010. I also served as the Chairman of Chemical Engineering Technical Division (CETD), Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM). For the past 10 years, I published a book and 5 journal papers related to engineering educations. 7 years ago, I appointed as Associate Dean (Learning and quality) at Taylor's University and CDIOTM leader for more than 5 years. The main job scopes were mentor, monitor and ensure all academic staff teaching and learning performance and professional developments including academic staff 360 course evaluation and class visitation/observation. I designed and delivered training to new/existing staff related to CDIOTM/Project-based learning, Grand Challenges, outcome-based education (OBE), continual quality improvement (CQI), accreditation, external examiner visits, exam and assessment preparation. I was appointed to chair the exams paper review committee meeting, pre-board of studies meeting and served as a member of University Teaching and Learning Committee. Develop case based study for engineering laboratory modules. The biggest achievements were developing teaching and learning processes for the school, designed integrated project based learning, implement minimum 30% blended Learning for each course, execute class continuity plan (CCP) due to Haze in Malaysia. In 2017, I moved to Heriot-Watt University Malaysia and appointed as Programme Director of Studies (PDoS). I led the programme management, operation and development, work at global level with PDoS from Dubai and senior PDoS from Edinburgh campus to assign global course leaders, initiate change of curriculum, approve mitigating circumstances and prepare for IChemE global accreditation. The biggest achievement was 30% of the courses offered by Chemical Engineering Programme led by Malaysia staff and help the programme became accredited in Malaysia. I also served as a member of Board of Studies and contributed to review processes such as Annual Monitoring and Review (ARM) and Academic Review (AR) of the programme, provide responses based on the ARM and AR with PDoS in other campuses, lead regulatory and professional accreditation of the programme. In 2019, I was promoted to Associate Director of Teaching and Learning. The role involves all programmes in the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences. I monitored local operations, results and actions related to student's surveys and other mechanisms to obtain students feedbacks, I maintained local overview of student performance and retention through Start, Stop and Go. (Target 92% retention rate), provide training for personal tutor, review course feedbacks survey (CFS), manage peer support teaching and class observation prior confirmation of academic staff, served as a member of Learning and Teaching Committee at University level, a member of Learning and Teaching Enhancement Forum at Malaysia, in charge of disciplinary cases of other programme and special cases/ complaints related to teaching and learning.

My teaching approach is student-centered and I adopted case based learning to achieve this objective. My teaching pedagogy was developed from learning from training by education experts, peers, students, mentors, CDIOTM leaders and industry leaders. My teaching pedagogy encourages students to develop professional communication skills in terms of verbal and non-verbal and think like an engineer in solving challenges.
