The department hosts one of the largest power electronics research group in the UK. We carry out fundamental studies in enabling technologies, and applied research in partnershipwith a range of companies, which informs our teaching. We pride ourselves on our practical, industrial focus.

Our globally recognised research gives you the opportunity to undertake live, innovative projects. Student projects have ranged from studies which establish new scientific principlesand technological possibilities, to near-market developments undertaken in close collaborationwith industry.
