Taking on an industrial placement makes you even more attractive to potential employers and has a positive impact on your final degree results. During your time in industry you will gain hands-on experience, start to understand exactly what career path you ultimately want to go down and get paid whilst staying a fully registered student of the University of Nottingham.
Industrial placements team
Securing a year-long industry placement is a highly competitive process and is something our dedicated industrial placements team can prepare you for. Pre-placement they will not only help you identify the ideal position in any number of companies but also guide you on the best approach with a full programme of support as you prepare for interviews and assessment by your host company. Students undertaking a year-long placement will be supported by an academic from the department, who will be on hand to assist with any questions you may have, will keep you up-to-date with developments in the department and guide you as you document your newly acquired experience and propel yourself towards Chartered Engineer status with IET.
