Professor Colin Snape
With a 2025 deadline to decommission all East Midlands coal-fired power stations, how will we meet all our future energy needs? Prof Colin Snape, of the Cleaner Fossil Energy and Carbon Capture Technologies Research Group, appeared on the region’s weekend politics show to discuss the renewable energy revolution and how the University has secured £20m investment in new capital facilities and £10m to train the next generation of innovators in energy and carbon capture and storage. “Our research is really focused beyond 2030 when the electricity supply will be completely be decarbonised,” Professor Snape explains.
