Snow: UK grinds to a halt every time

The cold winter has brought with it snow which has seen disruption to roads, rail and air travel. While some argue that the UK could prepare for the snow by investing in more vehicles and equipment, Professor Barbara Turnbull, an expert in environmental fluid mechanics, in the Faculty of Engineering, was quoted across UK regional media, including the Manchester Evening Post, that there's little point in the UK trying to become more adaptable to the snow because of the excessive cost. Professor Turnbull, also explains that UK snowfall is very different to countries that have heavier, more consistent snow and in some cases that makes it more difficult to deal with.
