I welcome enquiries from potential PhD candidates from Home, EU and international countries who are interested in the following research areas: Architecture and urbanism, compact cities; housing design and architectural practice; Materiality and Tectonics; Density relationships

Will be pursuing the following projects: -

1_Compact Cities: A Critical Appraisal of Empirical Studies (1999-2011).

2_ Compact Cities: Measurable Impact of Density on Sustainable Urbanism.

3_Maggie's Centres: Methodology for objective appraisal of the hospice environment's performance in palliative care.

4_Light: Simulation and Reality in Studies of the architecture of Alvar Aalto, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Mies van der Rohe.

5_Digital Fabrication: Fabrication, 3D patterns and panelling: Applying the digital to Charles Eames and Alvar Aalto.
