Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering
Dr. Lee Lai Yee obtained her Bachelor and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bath, United Kingdom. Her PhD research work involved volatile organic compounds (VOCs) adsorption onto low pressure drop silicalite monoliths. She has established research in the field of water and wastewater treatment, thermochemical conversion of biomass and application of agricultural waste as value added products at UNMC. Her current research work focuses on the development of adsorbing materials and nanocomposite materials for environmental pollution control and product recovery from industrial effluent. Her research work also involves application of nanoporous material in energy storage and bioplastic development.
Research interests: VOC removal, treatment of water and wastewater, energy storage, activated carbon, carbon nanosorbent, adsorbent development and industrial scale-up, nanoporous materials, nanocomposite materials, bioplastic and microfluidics.
