The 2025 Fell-Benedikz lecture is How will they fare? Runes, manuscripts, books in the digital world presented by Professor Guðrún Nordal. Professor Nordal is a Professor of Medieval Icelandic Literature at the University of Iceland and Director of the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies. Her research areas are Icelandic medieval literature, especially contemporary sagas and Icelandic sagas, but also medieval epics and literary studies.

The Fell-Benedikz lecture is held every two years to commemorate the life and work of Professor Christine Fell, OBE, and Dr Benedikt S. Benedikz. Professor Fell was Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Nottingham (1986 - 89) and Head of the School of English (1990 - 1993). She established Nottingham as a leading centre for Viking Studies. Dr Benedikz was Head of Special Collections at the University of Birmingham (1973 - 1995) and a member of the University of Nottingham's College of Benefactors. He was closely involved in Viking Studies in the School of English and delivered the first Fell-Benedikz lecture in 2000.
