Join us for reading by award-winning poet Remi Graves, who will be joined by Dr Onni Gust for a conversation about Remi's recent publication Coal (2025), a poetry sequence exploring Black trans history. Remi is also the author of the pamphlet ‘with your chest’ (2022), a collection of poems that look at race, gender, childhood, injustice, and love. A former Barbican Young Poet, Remi's work has been featured on BBC Radio 4, at St Paul's Cathedral and in Pan Macmillan’s She is Fierce anthology. Remi has performed at Cheltenham Literature Festival, Tate Modern and more.

This event is run by the School of English's Creative Writing section and the Centre for Literary Creativity, Community, and Place in association with Black History Month.
