Technical

This functionality is not in the narrative documentation, but has emerged from designing the Demonstrator and looking at current UCAS Apply functionality. Rather than including UCAS' limits within the Personal Statement constructor, we provide here a facility (implemented via a UCAS web service) to check the line length and character count of a Personal Statement for inclusion in a UCAS application.

In this implementation the current UCAS limit is 47 lines and 4000 characters for a complete Personal Statement. In future we envisage that the Personal Statement might be structured with a separate (and larger) size limit for each section.
