Business and Local Partnerships

 

The Business and Local Partnerships Team support activity in three operational areas:

  • Engagement with SMEs and local partners (such as the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership)
  • Supporting access to collaborative R&D funding via the Innovate UK, Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme and, as required, strategic proposals.
  • Knowledge Exchange in the Arts and Social Sciences, via the appointed Knowledge Exchange managers in each Faculty.

The team also provides support for the internal management of HEIF funding and support to the Knowledge Exchange Board.

 

Engagement with SMEs and local partners

 

Funding for collaborative R&D

  • Support for academic and business access to the national Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme.
  • Support and business development for proposals to Innovate UK's (previously the Technology Strategy Board) range of collaborative R&D calls.
  • Support for major and strategic bids involving collaborative R&D, business relationships or other facets relevant to BEIS.

Knowledge Exchange in the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences 

  • Additional support for KE activity in these Faculties via appointed Knowledge Exchange Managers in each Faculty.
