Biography:
Born San Carlos, Venezuela, she dressed up as a man and took part in the battles of Gameza, Pantano de Vargas and Boyacá. (Cherpak, 222.)

In 1814 she dressed in men's clothes and joined Valbuena in the severely depleted ranks of the patriot army at San Carlos, Valencia, Venezuela. She took part in the campaigns in Venezuela and Colombia, fighting in the battles of Gámeza, Pantano de Vargas and Boyacá in 1819. (Monsalve, 60)
