Biography:
She was born in Buenos Aires on 5 August 1799, the half-sister of María Eugenia de Demaría, and sister of Remedios Escalada de San Martín. She married José de Oromí on 5 August 1824, they had four children. She was among a group of women who contributed money for arms on 30 May 1812. She died in Buenos Aires on 13 July 1867. A school bears her name. (Sosa de Newton, 210)

In 1812 she was among a group of women who sewed uniforms for the patriot army. Several of these offered to buy weapons and they asked that their names be inscribed on them. Their accompanying note (below) was reproduced in the Gaceta Minist, No.12, 26 de junio de 1812. (Mitre, Obras completas, VII, 16-17)

She was born in Buenos Aires on 5 August 1799, the eldest daughter of Antonio Jose de Escalada and Tomasa de la Quintana. She married José de Oromí on 5 August 1825. Carranza mentions an anonymous publication of 1825 made against San Martín that praises her. She died on 13 June 1867. (Carranza, 124-125)
